JAMMU, Feb 25: Pradesh Congress Vichar Vibhag, J&K today discussed the present political scenario in the State in an interactive session held here today.
The crucial meeting of the State unit was held under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, coordinator AICC Vichar Vibhag which also focused on the role of Congress under present situation.
The meeting was participated by the representatives from all parts of the State, who focused on the need of good governance and employment opportunities utilizing economic potential of the State to restore peace and normalcy.
Prominent among those who deliberated were Jhangir Mir, ex-Vice Chairman, J&K Legislative Council, Ch Gharu Ram ex-Minister, Vinod Sharma-senior Congress leader, BS Jamwal – former Deputy Commissioner, Mazamal Punjabi – a Political analyst; Hari Om Singh – former District and Sessions Judge; Zahid Sarfraz Malik, Capt Lalit Sharma (Retd APCCF), Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din War, Munish Sharma, Col B.D Sharma, Baldev Singh, Dr Iftkar Hussain, Arjun Sharma, Satish Chibber and others. The speakers projected their view point.
The “Vichar Vibhag” is think tank and intellectual cell of the Congress Party which also aims at establishing correspondence between plans and policies of the party and aspirations of the nation and find out methodologies for effective implementations of various strategies and programmes through mass contact.
Muzamal Punjabi emphasized on protecting the secular bonds and age old fraternity and brother hood between various shades and sections of the people of the State. Jhangir Mir said that Congress Party is an ideology which exhibits social bondage, secularism, helping the needy and down trodden, fight against communal forces, sustainable development and nationalism.
Capt Lalit Sharma highlighted the economical potential of the State and its scientific utilization in planned manner to boost economy and address unemployment.
Dr Iftkar Hussain said that role of opposition is vital in a democracy and congress should actively perform this role.
Ashok Sharma former Legislator said that Vichar Vibhag can play significant role in discussing and formulating strategies to revitalize the party.
