JAMMU, Oct 14: National vice president of BJP, MP and Prabhari of J&K State, Avinash Rai Khanna today said that like the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the State, Congress will be wiped out in Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) elections in the Ladakh region also.
Addressing an election rally at Polo Ground, Leh, along with Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, Co-operative Minister, Tsering Dorjey, Transport Minister, Abdul Gani Kohli, MoS Education, Priya Sethi, Ladakh MP Thupstan Chhewang, State vice-president & MLA Sat Sharma, State general secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, State general secretary, Dr. Narinder Singh and MLA Dr. Devinder Manyal, Mr Khanna said that the Congress, which ruled the country for maximum period after independence, only promoted a particular family and did nothing for the common masses.
Making a scathing attack on Congress he said It only gave slogans of ending poverty and unemployment, it misled the weaker sections and people living in far flung remote areas for vote bank politics. Despite ruling at Centre and in the State for decades together “still there is no proper road and communication connectivity, the plight of the women, STs and working class is miserable due to the anti-people and anti-poor policies of the Congress” he added.
He said the people have now found a reliable option in the form of BJP and hence they are voting for it in every election after 2014 Lok Sabha poll.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the policies of Congress towards Ladakh region had always been discriminatory and it remained undeveloped and backward in all matters.
“The people of Ladakh always displayed faith and supported Congress but unfortunately the region remained ditched”, Dr. Singh said further adding that BJP has always stood for the cause of Ladakh and is committed for its development and welfare of the people. He said that the BJP-led NDA Government has been paying special attention to this cold region and a number of projects have been launched for better means of communication and all weather road connectivity. The State’s coalition is also following the line and working towards overall development of Ladakh, he said.
Tsering Dorjey said that the BJP does not believe in lip service and the same is clear from the attention being paid towards Ladakh during one and half year rule of Narendra Modi Government and seven month old PDP-BJP coalition Government in the State.
Abdul Gani Kohli appealed the people not to get misled by the false promises and slogans of the Congress and NC and vote BJP candidates for a better Ladakh.
Priya Sethi, Ashok Koul, Sat Sharma, Dr. Narinder Singh, half a dozen party candidates for LAHDC elections also addressed the public rally.
