SRINAGAR, Nov 13: “The Congress will defeat the communal forces in the upcoming Assembly polls in J&K which are bent on dividing the State on religious lines”, the Congress Secretary, Salman Nizami said today.
Nizami said that the people will vote for the Congress as the party has carried out massive development in all the three regions of the State during the tenure of Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad. The party is banking heavily on the stature of former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, to counter the BJP propaganda in the State that it will win absolute majority here, he added.
He said that the party has been able to reach out to the remotest and neglected areas in the State and during the tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad, not only corruption was rooted out but a strong work culture was created in the State.
Nizami said that the party has created additional districts and it has been due to the efforts of the Congress leader Azad, that a large number of administrative units were created in Jammu region. “The Jammu region especially the Chenab Valley and the Rajouri and Poonch areas were neglected by the earlier Government and it has been due to the efforts of the former CM Mr Azad that the region has witnessed massive development,” he said.
Nizami added that the people will repose faith on the leadership of the party and cast their vote in favour of its policies and ideology to defeat the forces with the communal and divisive agenda.
