KHOUR (AKHNOOR), Jan 7: Former Deputy Chief Minister, three times MLA and senior Congress leader, Tara Chand said that Congress party has always kept its focus on holistic development and would do so in future as well.
Addressing a gathering of party workers, Tara Chand hoped that newly elected legislator will carry forward the development agenda initiated by him in past 18 years in future as well in Khour Assembly segment. He also expressed gratitude to the electorates, who polled their vote in his favour.
Enlisting the work done by Congress party especially for Khour Block, Tara Chand highlighted that right from zero percent road connectivity to almost 100 per cent road connectivity, from rarely few Primary and Middle Schools to numerous High, Higher Secondary Schools and a much awaited Degree College, construction of Sub-District Hospital, taking power supply and drinking water to the village level are just few examples of contribution of Congress party for the poor people of this remote and border belt.
“Setting up of new administrative units including Niabats, Blocks, Tehsil and Sub-Division are few more instances which reflect that Congress party fulfilled its commitment of bringing services at the door steps of the people,” asserted Tara Chand, adding if newly elected legislator needs our support for over all development of Constituency, he will extend full support.
The senior Congress leader also highlighted that Congress Government ensured that all regions and sections of the society were treated with equity, fairness and justice. During the period of this party, the country and State progressed steadfastly in all sectors”, Tara Chand said.
The former Deputy CM also assured the people that even if he was unable to win the Assembly polls, but he will continue to serve the people day and night as he used to do in past more than 20 years. Later, on the request of Block Congress Committee and party workers, Tara Chand announced to continue monthly meetings in Khour Assembly segment so that Khour continues to be on development spree.
