Congress appeals farmers to get united for struggle

SAMBA, Apr 28: Former Minister and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) general secretary Manjit Singh today accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Union Government of acting against farmers and poor sections of the society.
Speaking here at village Abtal in Vijaypur Assembly constituency, Manjit Singh said recently heavy rains have destroyed crops of the farmers, but Union Government and the State Government especially BJP have ignored the suffering of the farmers.
He said that the revenue officials have not turned up to the people to listen to their grievances and assess losses they have suffered.
He appealed the farmers to get ready and united for the struggle.
“Congress party will leave no stone unturned to force Government as well administration to consider demands of the farmers. If they fail to do so, Congress will corner them with demonstrations”, Singh added.
Among others present were Surinder Lal Sharma, Manjit Singh Jyoti, Deepak Choudhary, Ex-Capt Banta Ram, Nanak Singh, Ex-Capt Pal Singh, Madan Choudhary, Lamberdar Abtal Sukdev Singh, Lamberdar Bhagwan Singh, Joginder Lal, Bittu, Tonna and Bhagwan Singh.
