LEH, June 25: Two day long workshop being organized by CBSE at Delhi Public School on Capacity Building Programme in Mathematics commenced, here.
On the occasion, Trilok Singh Bist, President Sahodaya Complex of CBSE Schools of Leh, Co-ordinator with CBSE and heading the Jodhamal Public School Jammu was the Resource person.
The workshop was inaugurated by Jigmet Takpa, Conservator of Forest and Director Ladakh Renewable Energy Development Agency.
Principal of DPS Leh Subhash Kumar Baldotra presented the welcome address. The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana and welcome song by the school choir.
During the two day long workshop, teaching of mathematics, planning to teach, gender sensitization, group work and discussion followed by the challenging areas and common errors in mathematics, teaching diverse learners, assessment both SA-1 and SA-2 will be discussed.
Speaking on the occasion, Jigmet Takpa said that workshop will be an eye-opener for the mathematics teachers which are 40 in number drawn from different CBSE affiliated schools of Leh. Mathematics is an important subject which is used in day to day life, he added.
According to Trilok Singh Bist “We people i.e teaching faculty members had made it more complex and complicated as we always insist on doing Mathematics only by pronouncing it a difficult subject. As such students also develop a mind set for the same”.
Principal Subhash Kumar Baldotra said that the mathematics is the simpler, easier and subject of practice. More we practice more we become comfortable and gain more knowledge about the subject, he added.
