JAMMU, June 6: All J&K PoJK 1947 Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum convened a meeting of its Core Committee under the chairmanship of Adv Amrik Singh which was also addressed by Surjit Singh its general secretary.
The meeting discussed the latest Domicile Law amended by the J&K UT Government which states that by virtue of this law every citizen of UT has to obtain a domicile certificate to prove their domicile identity. The Forum expressed its reservation in this regard and elaborated that since the PoJK Sharnarthis are the originates of J&K and have obtained their PRC by completing all the prescribed rules circulated by the Law Department besides getting themselves registrations in the office of Provincial Rehabilitation Officer Jammu province in the year 1954 and have got FARM A. Further they have also enclosed J&K Legislative Assembly 1951 —1952 election voter list with the State Subject file and on this solid proof of identity the PoJK Sharnarthis should be automatically exempted and considered as domiciles of J&K.
The Forum reiterated that we are not against the new domicile law keeping in view the number of backdoors entries already made in past by means of corrupt practice of officials where lakhs numbers of Bangladeshi, Rohangyas, and other states residents have got PRC by illegal means which just be checked up.
The Forum further said that the refugees belongs to West Pakistan are also the sufferers and they should be issued the new law domicile certificate
The Forum urged upon the J&K UT Government to consider the present PRC of the PoJK1947 Sharnarthis as domicile on the basis of PRC on Farm; A already issued by the District Development Commissioner and provincial relief and rehabilitation Department to save the main powers and avoid wastage of precious times.
