Constitute committee on 7th Pay Commission: NMC urges PM

JAMMU, Dec 22: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today urged the Prime Minister to constitute committee on 7th Pay Commission before the applicability of code of conduct for the next general elections.
Addressing a meeting of NMC workers at Satwari,  Subash Shastri, president, NMC pointed out that there remains no point to delay the appointment of Chairman and other members of the 7th Pay Commission for which, Prime Minister has already made the announcement.
Stressing on the need for early sanction of 20 per cent interim relief in favour of Central and State Government employees and pensioners, Shastri urged PM to intervene personally and take decision at the earliest in view of inflation and steep hike in the prices of essential commodities.
Release of 10 percent along with 3rd installment of 6th Pay Commission arrears, amendment in SRO 64, minimum wage should be raised to Rs 10,000, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers working in RDD, enhancing medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month and immediate release of pending wages of casual labour of PWD were other demands highlighted in the meeting.
