Consult MLAs in preparation of Master Plan for TDAs: Mir

JAMMU, Dec 12: Minister for Tourism Ghulam Ahmed Mir has stressed on preparing the master plan for the Tourism Development Authorities in consultation with the concerned MLAs to ensure effective plan implementation and harnessing the tourism potential of the area.
The Minister was speaking at meeting of Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority here today.
Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Printing & Stationery and Elections Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Member Legislative Assembly Basholi Jagdish Raj Sapolia, Secretary Tourism Zaffar Ahmad Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Jitendra K. Singh, Director Tourism Soujanya Sharma, MD JKTDC Shamim-A-Wani, and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
Chief Executive Officer LSDA Dr Bharat Bhushan gave a resume of the physical and financial achievements registered by the authority and informed that various developmental activities are apace to improve facilities at the Shri Mata Sukrala Devi ,providing wayside amenities at Dhar Mahanpur, Marta Nagrota and other public conveniences and allied works have been taken up at these points.
Mr Mir exhorted on consolidation process so that the ongoing projects are completed in a time bound manner and stressed the need for chalking out means to endorse and promote these areas which are richly endowed with immense natural beauty.
Mr Manohar Lal also stressed for taking up the ropeway project from Base Camp to Mata Bal Sundri Temple since the temple is thronged by lakhs of devotees every year.
In this regard, Mr Mir also directed the concerned officers of J&K Cable car Corporation to prepare a report on the feasibility of the rope way project at the earliest.
The Ministers also stressed on tapping the vast potential for water sports in the area.
Earlier, the Minister for Tourism also convened a high level meeting to review the progress of Raghunath bazar beautification project and was informed about the ongoing works for the ambitious project for developing the bazar as a heritage tourism destination.
The Minister asked the concerned line departments to expedite the work and to ensure that the project is completed at the earliest possible time.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ajit Sahu, Director Tourism Soujanya Sharma, senior officers from line departments, President RBBA Baldev Khullar, Vice President RBBA M.M Sharma, Anoop Jain, O.P Mahajan& KL Bhalla members RBBA were present in the meeting.
