JAMMU, Mar 10: As the chain hunger strike by Contractual Lecturers (10+2) entered into 26th day today, the agitators held a utensils knocking protest demonstration to alarm the Government over their grievances.
The protesting Contractual Lecturers have been demanding their regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act.2010, a policy framed for the regularization of all the ad-hoc/contractual/consolidated employees after rendering seven years of service.
Despite bad weather and rains for the last two days, the agitating Lecturers are sitting in open with a vow to continue their struggle till a logical conclusion.
The protest demonstration was addressed by Arun Bakshi, State president of 10+2 Contractual Lecturers Forum, who drew attention towards various Government orders, which support their demand for regularization.
While condition of Vinod Kumar, who was on fast unto death and had to be shifted to GMC Hospital, is still critical, two male and two female Contractual Lecturers began their chain hunger strike today.
They also threatened to convert their chain hunger strike into fast unto death if the Government does not concede their demand of regularization.
