JAMMU, Oct 21: The Convoquer 2024 Sports Meet at IIT Jammu concluded today with a grand success, celebrating the spirit of athleticism and collaboration among students from 11 universities and colleges in the region. Held from October 17 to 21, the fest showcased a diverse array of competitions, including Football, Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Chess, Cricket, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Pool, Weight Lifting and eSports.
Institutions that participated alongside IIT Jammu included Jammu University, IIM Jammu, SMVDU Katra, AIIMS Jammu, GMC Jammu, GAMC Jammu, ASCOMS Jammu, MIET Jammu, Central University, and GCET Jammu. The event kicked off with an energetic opening ceremony, featuring a musical performance by Malang, the music club of IIT Jammu. Dr. Manoj Singh Gaur, Director of IIT Jammu, emphasized the critical role of sports in student life and extended heartfelt thanks to the organizing committee, volunteers and participants.
Students and spectators shared their excitement on social media, highlighting the vibrant atmosphere and seamless execution of the event. The overwhelming response from participants pointed to a strong appreciation for the meticulous organization, with many hoping for similar events in the future.
The Convoquer 2024 Sports Meet not only highlighted athletic talent but also fostered community spirit and camaraderie between educational institutions.
