Counseling of traffic violators begins in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Sept 5: On the first day of the counseling of traffic violators the traffic police personnel counseled some of the girls who were driving their two wheelers without wearing helmets at various places in the Srinagar city.
Besides the girls, the traffic police personnel called on their parents and asked them to advise their daughters to follow traffic rules while driving on the roads.
A spokesman of the traffic Police Department said that 800-900 visible offence violators particularly bike riders were given on spot awareness at three different locations in Srinagar city. The spokesman said that at Parraypora some civilians came forward and delivered lecture to the traffic rule violators.
The spokesman said that Deputy Inspector General (DIG) traffic police, Shafqat Ali Watali and SP traffic Haseeb-ur-Rahman delivered lectures to the violators. He said the awareness drive cum counseling camps will continue for the next four days.
