Counselling services in institutions

Sir,
Student life is getting complex day by day. Students in their adolescence or growing age find it difficult to discuss their problems and thoughts with family and friends. And in many cases it affects their mental health and psychological well being which in turn leads to depression and suicides and this number is increasing fast. Therefore, there is the need of introducing and strengthening the counselling services in academic institutions of our state to meet the various needs of the students. Counselors are professionally trained persons who can help students deal with their problems and can provide effective measures.
Recent science  has also confirmed that counseling has significantly greater clinical effectiveness compared with usual care and therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and it has been reported that person – centered counseling is effective for clients with common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.
So, it’s my humble request to the authorities to set up counseling cells and provide at least 2 to 3 professional counsellors in every academic institution (high secondary schools, colleges and universities) of the State.
Yours etc…
