Srinagar, Apr 4: A couple and their 3-year old child died while their 18-months old baby was injured in a road mishap at Lethpora on Srinagar-Jammu highway in the wee hours today.
An Alto car rammed into a truck, which was parked on road side at Lethpora area of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
As per officials, three persons travelling in the car died on the spot and another suffered injuries while the driver had a miraculous escape.
The deceased have been identified as Ghulam Nabi Dar, 40, his wife Jawahara Begum, 35 and their son Nasir Dar, 3. Their 18-months old baby Yasir Dar of Hathlangoo, Sopore, was injured.
Police said a case under FIR number 51 / 2018/ u/s 279, 304 A RPC was registered in police station Awantipora and further investigations have been taken up.
Meanwhile, in another mishap at Digdol area of Ramban along Srinagar-Jammu highway, a shooting stone hit a vehicle resulting in injuries to two persons.
Both the injured identified as Barak Bilal, 23, a resident of Sanat Nagar, Srinagar and Dawood Rashid, 22, a resident of Khanqah, Srinagar were taken to nearby hospital where Bilal was declared as brought dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has expressed grief over the death of three members of a family of Hathlangoo, Sopore in a road accident at Lethpora on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway today morning.
The Chief Minister has prayed for peace to the departed souls and conveyed her sympathies to the kin of the deceased.
