RAMBAN, Jan 24: Five persons including a couple were injured when the Santro car they were traveling in was hit by a truck near Selhar area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
As per police sources, a truck bearing registration number JK09-1394 hit a Santro car bearing registration number JK19-1065 near Selhar area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, resulting into injuries to five persons traveling in the car.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and with the help of locals shifted the injured persons to PHC Ramsoo and than to District Hospital Ramban.
Later, all the injured persons were further referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for advanced treatment.
The injured were identified as Nazam-ud-Din, son of Abdul Salam, his wife Zaitoon Begum, Gowher and Mohammad Arif, sons of Nazir Ahmed and Saleema Akhter, wife of Farooq Ahmed, all residents of Alinbass.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Banihal Police Station and truck driver identified as Zaheer Ahmed, son of Habibullah of Edgah Srinagar has been arrested. Both the vehicles also stands seized.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
