JAMMU, Nov 18: In the much publicized Udhampur attack case, Special Judge NIA Y P Kotwal today extended judicial remand of Mohd Naveed alias Usman, Khursheed Ahmed Bhat, Showkat Ahmed Bhat and Shabzar Ahmed Bhat.
After perusal of the application and CD file, the court observed, “investigation of the case is in progress and some of the accused persons involved in the case are still absconding which is causing difficulties in unearthing the larger conspiracy behind the attack on BSF convoy”, adding “efforts are on for the arrest of absconding accused and to collect more evidence to finalize the investigation”.
Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the present case, stage of the investigation and the nature of offences involved in the case, Special Judge NIA extended the judicial remand of the accused up to November 28.
