KATRA, Apr 23: As part of sports activities of its 10th year of foundation, the Sports Department organized Cricket
and Badminton tournaments in University Complex, here.
Ajay Khajuria, Registrar inaugurated the Badminton tournament before commencement of the exhibition match played between the pair of Ashish & Anuj and Mohinder & Sajal Dixit.
He was introduced with all the participants by Director Sports, Ashok Kumar and Dr Ajay Sharma, I/C sports faculty.
The pair of Ashish and Anuj won the match by 21-18 and 21-19
Earlier, Ashok Kumar informed that a large number of activities have been planned during the celebration of 10th year of foundation of the University.
He thanked Prof S K Jain, Vice-Chancellor, Prof V Verma, Dr Jugal Khajuria and other dignitaries for their support.
Meanwhile, in the first quarterfinals, Vidyanchal hostel Red defeated Hostel Blue team by 72 runs. Anil Didariya from Vidyanchal Blue scored highest 24 runs, while as Swatantar of Vidyanchal Red top scored with 29.
In another quarterfinal, Nilgiri XI defeated Trikuta X1 easily to sail into semis.
