Cricket match for visually impaired held

SRINAGAR, Sept 21: An extraordinary cricket match for cricketers with visually impaired was organised by Government Degree College Utrusoo in Shangus Anantnag here today. 24 cricketers facing visual disabilities from six districts of Kashmir division participated in the cricket match.
Two league teams South 11 and Central 11 under captainship of Abid Hussain Naikoo and Showkat Ahmad Lone respectively played the match. Losing the toss and proposed to bat team Central 11 made huge score of 122 runs while chasing the score South 11 lost its two opening wickets against 5 runs only. Ali Mohammad Sheikh took 2 wickets and Mohammad Shafi Wani took 2 wickets and broke the rhythm of team south 11. Hence Central 11 won the match by 18 runs.
Principal Government Degree College Utrusoo Shangus chairman of organising committee appreciated the talent of all players with visual disabilities who played the cricket match.
