POONCH, July 18: Shaheed Sukhdev Cricket Club and Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan Cricket Club reached finals of the cricket tournament at Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament is organized by District Administration Poonch in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Poonch under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative.
The statement said the 1st semifinal match was played between Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan Club and Shaheed Chandra Shekhar Azad Club, where Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan Club won the match by 34 runs. Shoib Kohli was declared as man of the match.
The 2nd semi final was played between Shaheed Bhagat Singh club and Shaheed Sukhdev Club where Shaheed Sukhdev club won the match by 72 runs. Atharv Sharma, a 14 year-old budding cricketer was declared player of the match for his brilliant bowling spell of 3 overs 5 runs and 4 wickets.
Matches were officiated by Harbans Singh Physical Education Master, Aman Sharma, Kavaldeep Singh and Ramanjot Singh (ReK’s). Tournament is being coordinated and organized under the overall supervision of Mohd Qasim District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Poonch and Narinder Singh ZPEO, Poonch and technically supervised by Pawan Kumar, convener of the tournament.
