Cricket: Physical Education thrashes Zoology dept; enters final

JAMMU, Apr 18: Physical Education Department thrashed Zoology Department by 5 wickets in the semis and entered into the final of the Cricket event, being organised during the ongoing Inter-Department Tournament (Men) by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at Varsity grounds here today.
Batting first, after winning the toss, Zoology Department scored 134 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Rahul Singh was the top scorer with 61 runs in 30 balls including seven boundaries and four lofty sixes, while Arshad and Shehzad Ansari scored 24 and 16 runs respectively.
For Physical Education Department side, Rajinder Sharma and Amit Sharma scalped 2 wickets each, while Vinay Manhas and Sunil Dutt took one wicket apiece.
While batting, Physical Education Department chased the target in 16.3 overs by losing 5 wickets. Vinay Manhas scored 32 runs, while Taqdeer Singh, Sunil Sharma and Amit Sharma chipped in 26, 22 and 17 runs respectively.
For Zoology department side, Rahul Singh, Shehzad Ansari and Arjun took one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Suresh Singh and Jagtar Singh as umpires, while Satpal and Manu Khajuria maintained the scoreboard.
