JAMMU, Sept 19: Police today arrested a criminal in Jewel Chowk area, who was involved in the incident of firing at Bishnah and recovered a country made pistol from his possession.
The criminal has been identified as Harmeet Singh son of Rajinder Singh, a resident of Resham Ghar.
During a naka laid by a Nowabad police station team headed by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma, police arrested the accused and recovered a country made pistol and four rounds of .315 bore from his possession. He was booked under 3/25 Arms Act.
Police said the criminal was involved in an incident of firing at Deoli, Bishnah on September 17 in which Pankaj Sharma of Deoli was injured.
Two criminals were involved in the shoot-out at Bishnah, one of whom was still absconding.
Harmeet was also involved in a stabbing case at Bishnah.
