Criminology Society holds interactive session with civil society

SAMBA, Dec 15: For the last eight years, Criminologists Society of J&K has mobilized thousands of people against the menace of crime under a project called Project Safe J&K which is being executed in collaboration with J&K Police. As part of this programme, today an interactive session with the civil society of District Samba had been organized by District Police Samba at District conference Hall, Nandini Hills, Samba, which was presided over by Additional .D.C Samba Neelam Sethi.
S.P.Samba Koushal Sharma,CEO Samba, Dubey and various other senior officers and intellectuals, academicians and members of civil society were also present. While speaking on the occassion, ADC Samba appreciated the gesture of Criminologists Society in coming to Samba and enlightening the people against crime.  Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, president of the Society, while speaking on the occasion urged the civil society to help police organization in combating all sorts of crime, which is eating the vitals of the nation and is an impediment in its true progress.
He said that massive pool of human resources generated by the Society during all these years is a vast reservoir of energy, which needs to be tapped in creating a lawful culture in the state. He also threw light on the biological and psychological reasons, which turn a man into a criminal and the ways to decriminalize him. Balbir Singh Manhas spoke about various criminal activities like traffic offences, which are consuming many lives. Earlier, Ranjeet Singh gave a brief account of activities of society and said that just like Rajouri, Poonch meetings, the response of Samba meeting was also encouraging.
