Cross Country Run organized

JAMMU, Feb 27: District Administration Jammu in collaboration with Tiger Division Jammu today organized a Cross Country Run at Sattowaali Suchetgarh, RS Pura to mark the event of first inter-centre meet of Six C-Byte (Centres for border youth training and empowerment) Centres, here.
District Administration Jammu has recently come up with six C-BYTE (Centres for border youth training and empowerment) centres under Border Area skills development programme at Arnia, Sattowaali, Mandal, Jhiri,Pargwal and Garhi for imparting skills to students for entering into armed forces.
These Centres are running in a highly professional manner with a relevant and structured curriculum consisting of academic and physical training and testing along with intercentre meets.
The run was flagged off by SDM RS Pura, Vikas Kundal.
All the students from all the six centres participated in the meet. The prize distribution function started with the welcome address by Jasmeet Singh. Air commodore Ashutosh Lal, AOC Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion.
The chief guest lauded the efforts of the organizing team for organizing the event and assured full support from the Air force for such noble initiatives.
He highlighted the need and rationale for organizing such activities. DDC Jammu Simran Deep Singh who is Chairman C-BYTE, urged the trainees to make best use of the facilities provided at their door steps for improving.
He urged the students to work hard to fulfill their dreams .He also motivated the students to demonstrate a civic sense and patriotic values which are declining now a days.
Surinder, Nodal facilitator for all C-BYTE Centres briefed the gathering about the C-BYTE initiative. Patriotic poems and songs by the Romesh and Surinder duo charged the whole atmosphere.
The best ten runners were awarded certificates of merit .The overall group trophy was claimed by C-BYTE centre Suchetgarh. Vote of thanks was presented by Surinder, Nodal facilitator. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Romesh Kumar.
