JAMMU, Jan 28: Crossway Cricket Academy and D-Drama marked their second anniversary with a grand event that celebrated their accomplishments in both sports and the arts. The event honoured coaches, students and dignitaries who have contributed to the academy’s success over the past two years.
Dignitaries presented awards to the academy’s coaches for their dedication, with special recognition given to the students of Head Coach Sukomul Ganguly, whose trainees have excelled in various JKCA tournaments. Notable students honoured for their outstanding performances included Arya Suvansh Thakur, who represented JKCA in prestigious tournaments like the Cooch Behar Trophy and was part of the Under-19 NCA camp; Abhay Tondon, who played in the Vijay Merchant and Cooch Behar Trophies; and Adhijai Mehta, who represented JKCA in the Vijay Merchant Trophy (2024-25). Other honourees included Gursimran Singh, Manitvey Sharma, Mannat Doffara and Tegvansh Singh for their contributions in national-level tournaments.
The Proprietor and Founder of Crossway Cricket Academy, Rajbinder Singh Kler, reflected on the academy’s journey and shared plans for enhancing sports development in the region. Former IGP Johnny William, a founding member of the academy, inspired the students with a speech emphasizing the importance of sports.
The event also showcased the achievements of D-Drama, with Director Delight William Kler highlighting the success of national Kathak performances, theatre productions, and international music examinations under the banner of Scottish Hall.
