JAMMU, Dec 30: As part of the nationwide Fit India movement, the 84 Battalion CRPF organized a 10 km Cyclothon from its Battalion Headquarters at Chatha Jammu to SKAUST Chatha Jammu and back. The rally was flagged off by N. Ranbir Singh, Commandant of 84 Battalion CRPF, in the presence of Deputy Commandant Suma K. P.
Around 40 students from various schools participated in the event. The rally was also attended by Avtar Singh, Sarpanch Chatha, P. P. Singh, former International Hockey player and coach, Surbi Sharma, Principal of Seminary High School Chatha, Advocate Jasmeet Kour Pandey, Principal of R V Public School Chatha, and Corporator Jammu Cantonment Board.
During the flag-off ceremony, the Commandant emphasized the significance of maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle, especially for the youth, who are the future of the nation. He encouraged the students to adopt cycling as a regular physical activity, citing its benefits as a low-impact and eco-friendly exercise. Event received appreciation from the community, including school principals and the local Sarpanch.
