CRPF organizes inter- school cricket tournament

Srinagar, Dec 7: The 28th Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today organized an inter-school cricket tournament for underprivileged children at Made-e-Meherban Ashiyana Common Cause Trust here in Bemina play ground here.A spokesman of CRPF said the event was presided over and inaugurated by Commandant 28th Battalion Raghuvansh Kumar. He said overall eight teams from different schools and orphanages are participating in the event which is slated to culminate on a colourful note on 10th December. “CRPF with its very nature has always been keen on its front to promote health awareness and sportsmanship among youths of Kashmir,” the spokesman said.
On the occasion, the commandant addressed the contesting teams and guests on this occasion and emphasized on the importance of sporting spirit for their overall physical and mental development through sports. He further underscored the dire need of channelizing the exuberance and energy of youth in positive ways like participation in sporting and academic events.
