JAMMU, Sept 19: CRPF, 72 Bn of Channi Himmat, and Urban Forestry Division, Jammu in collaboration with SAWERA, NGO, celebrated 63rd “Vanmahotsav” which was dedicated to 7th Guru Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib at Gurudwara Guru Ka Bagh, Channi Himmat.
On the occasion, G J Singh IGP, CRPF alongwith T B Singh, DFO Urban Forestry Division Jammu, Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Member CAMPA (Forest Deptt.) SAWERA Management, DIG CRPF, Satinder Singh Commandant 72 Bn CRPF and large number of inhabitants of Channi-Himmat Housing Colony and students of N.S.K. High School Channi-Himmat planted saplings.
Speaking on the occasion, G.J. Singh stressed the need of launching massive plantation drives in every nook and corner saying that the CRPF will extend its support to all such activities for conservation of environment and ecology. He exhorted upon the CRPF jawans to be part of all such programmes.
Dr. Gurmeet Singh spoke in length about benefits of medicinal plants which were planted in the park and stressed the need of protecting the plantation raised by Forest Department in Jammu city.
Later, the Management of Gurudwara Committee, honoured I.G. CRPF G.J. Singh, DIG CRPF, T.B. Singh DFO Urban Forestry Jammu and Satinder Singh Commandant 72 Bn CRPF with “Siropas”.
