JAMMU, Aug 1: Central Reserve Police Force’s 166 Battalion celebrated its 18th Raising Day with full zeal and fervour.
The 166 Battalion was raised in GC Nagpur on 1 August 2004. From that time to till date this unit was deployed in various theatres of the country including Pulwama and Shopian in Kashmir valley.
On the occasion of Raising Day, the unit celebrated it in its Headquarters at Sidhra Jammu and Dett/HQ at Banihal, Ramban.
The troops of the unit is performing preventing security duties at Raj Bhawan, High Court complex, Jammu and also four companies of the unit is deployed to secure NH44 on Banihal axis.
In today’s event of Raising Day, Puneet Kumar Kauldhar Commandant 166 Bn, Suresh Kumar Second in Command (Adm), Naveen Kumar Yadav, Second in Command (Ops), Shivnandan Singh, Dy Commandant, Rishipaul Singh Asst Comdt, Vinod Chader Pant Asstt Comdt, Dharmender Kumar Asstt Comdt, Alghar Swamy Asstt Comdt and all jawans paid floral tribute to their martyrs at Shayeed Smarak at Banihal, Ramban.
Puneet Kumar Kauldhar Commandant took the salute from the guard and addressed the unit personnel and extended warm greetings to all unit personnel and their families. He also motivated to all troops to maintain their high professional approach towards their assigned duties and took all duties with full devotion and dedication to serve the nation. He appreciated all personnel for their consistent hard work and devotion to secure the NH44 and their significant contribution in SANJY22 yatra at Lambhar ground.
He also congratulated unit personnel who had received DG Discs and appreciation letter for their significant role in Sunjwan encounter, Jammu.
A cultural program was also organized in which officers and jawans actively participated.
