CRPF’s 2-day Friendship Cup ends

SRINAGAR, June 15: The 2-day CRPF Friendship Cup Volleyball Tournament culminated today in the Gund area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
The event was organized by the 118 Battalion of the CRPF under the Civic Action Programme at their headquarters in Gund.
The tournament, held from June 14-15, saw participation from 10 teams, showcasing remarkable sportsmanship and camaraderie.
The final match was an exhilarating contest between the teams of Sumbul and Cheriwan, with team Cheriwan emerging victorious with a decisive 3-0 win.
Cheriwan’s exceptional performance earned them a cash reward of Rs 10,000, while the runners-up, Sumbul, were awarded Rs 6,000.
Mohsen Hameed of team Cheriwan was adjudged the best player of the tournament, demonstrating outstanding skills and dedication throughout the event.
To encourage their continued passion for the sport, all participating players received a volleyball kit.
“The 118 Bn CRPF remains committed to promoting such initiatives that build mutual trust and contribute to the well-being of the community,” organizers said.
