JAMMU, Apr 9: 38th Battalion of Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) emerged winners of Inter-Battalion Table Tennis tournament and lifted the title trophy by defeating 76th Battalion, organised by CRPF 38th Battalion at Samba, today.
The closing ceremony was organised at village Barodi of Samba district on the occasion of Valour Day wherein IGP Jammu Sector PS Ranpise was the chief guest.
During the event, IGP Jammu Sector emphasized for participation of jawans in sports activities and encouraged them that every CRPF personnel at least one game should play regularly.
AK Chaturvedi, DIG Jammu Sector, Dhirendra Verma, Commandant of 38 Bn and Deepak Mehra, Second-in-Command of 38 Bn were also present during the closing ceremony.
The event was organised by 38th Battalion of the CRPF to motivate officer and jawans towards sports.
About 12 teams of Jammu Sector participated in the championship. Both the teams were awarded with awarded with winning and runner-up trophies by the chief guest in the presence of the other dignitaries, whereas the participating team were awarded with certificates of participation.
The tournament was organized under the leadership of Dhirendra Verma, Commandant 38th Battalion with the help of officers of the unit, subordinate officers and jawans.
