JAMMU, Aug 17: J&K Commercial Taxes Non-Gazetted Employees Assoc-iation, Jammu has urged upon the State authorities to remove anomalies in their pay- grade without any more delay.
A meeting of the Association was held here today under the chairmanship of Nazir Ahmed Bhat wherein, the members discussed the issue of pay anomalies / pay disparity of the Ministerial & Executive Staff of Excise and Commercial Taxes department. They alleged discrimination with them for the last several decades.
They pointed out that their grades were higher than the Forest Guards and other equivalent cadre staff of Police and Revenue department till 1962 but thereafter, their pay grades were turned lowest. They said that many times, the Association gave representations to the concerned higher authorities but nothing was done in this regard. They urged upon the Government to provide them justice and remove the pay anomaly in their grades. They also sought implementation of High Court order in this regard.
The Association further demanded that after implementation of GST (One country one tax regime), the Excise & CT department staff in J&K should be brought at par with the pay grades of Central Govt employees. They also sought grant of technical grade to the employees of working in Excise and Commercial Taxes department on the pattern of employees working in Technical departments.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included- Dr Sonam, Gurvinder Kour, Subhash Baru, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Salinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, Rajesh Sharma, Romesh Chander and Mazair Shah.
