Refer the editorial ‘Curbing cheating in exams’ DE Oct 29.
It is need of the hour that the Government comes down heavily upon copying menace to restore the sanctity of examinations.
The loss of sancity is one of the reasons of downfall in standard of education in the State. The students do not take these exams with so much regard as was done in the yore, as has been rightly pointed out in the editorial.
Exams have been considered a necessary evil, as there is no alternative with us to replace them. Till a solution emerges, we have to do with it. And in these circumstances examination system has to be competitive and fair to enable the meritorious students choose their career. The copying menace has often discouraged the meritorious students, rather thrown them into depression. While undeserving have been making merry at the cost of these students.
