JAMMU, Dec 19: CVPPL inaugurated the two-day ‘Maitri Cup 2024-25 T-20 Cricket Tournament today at the Cricket Ground, University of Jammu. The event was inaugurated by Ram Swaroop, Executive Director of NHPC (Regional Office-Jammu), in the presence of senior officials including Chote Lal, GGM (Civil), Vasant Hurmade, GGM (E&C), Amrik Singh, GGM (Elect.), and other officials from CVPPL and NHPC Ltd.
Ramesh Mukhiya, Managing Director of CVPPL, extended his best wishes to the players through virtual mode, encouraging them to play safely, perform well, and enjoy their stay in Jammu.
The tournament features three teams: NHPC, NHDC (a joint venture of NHPC and the Government of Madhya Pradesh), and CVPPL (a joint venture of NHPC and JKSPDC). The event aims to promote sports, develop team spirit, and foster healthy competition among employees of NHPC, CVPPL, and NHDC.
Ram Swaroop encouraged the players to uphold sportsmanship, emphasizing that such activities can help reduce stress, improve mood, and boost self-esteem. In the opening match, CVPPL triumphed, winning both matches against NHDC and NHPC by 9 wickets and 7 wickets, respectively.
