Cyber Police Station Jammu converts only 3% complaints to FIRs since establishment

Rs 1.19 cr reverted back to complainants

JAMMU, Dec 9: Ever since its establishment in the year 2019, the Cyber Police Station Jammu has converted only 3% complaints into the First Information Reports (FIRs).
This information was shared by the Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) Police Headquarters, Dr Sunniya Wani, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Headquarters, in response to an RTI application of Advocate Nitin Bakshi.
“As reported by concerned, since 2019 i.e. date of establishment of Cyber Police Station Jammu, 5619 complaints have been registered. Out of these complaints, 167 have been converted into FIR and preliminary enquiries have been initiated in rest of the complaints,” read the reply provided to the RTI activist.
It has been further provided by the CPIO Police Headquarters Jammu that from the date of establishment of the Cyber Police Station, an amount of Rs 1, 19, 14, 053 has been reverted back to the complainants who had reported cyber frauds.
