SRINAGAR, Mar 19: District Srinagar Cycling Championship was organized from Nehru Park to Nishat, here today.
The championship was organized by Cycling Association of Jammu and Kashmir under the supervision of vice president of the Association, Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat.
A total of 80 cyclists from different age-groups participated in the competition. The participants were enthusiastic and wanted to explore more such opportunities in future. They opined that cycling is part of outdoor exercise that helps in maintaining stamina and wellbeing of an individual.
The medal ceremony was presided over by Jammu Kashmir Mountain Biking Association (JKMBA) president Riyaz Ahmad Wani and Baseball Coach Kashmir Shahnawaz Baba.
In girls U/14: Yumna Parvez claimed-1st, Farha Ahad and Nabeela Khan got 2nd and 3rd places, while in boys: Isthaseen Jan-1st, Fariq Rafiq-2nd and M Amaan-3rd, in senior boys ATB: Shah Adil Altaf-1st, Zamin Mirza-2nd and Mujtaba-3rd, in senior MTB: Mir Bahjat Nawaz-1st, Ameer Shafi and Mohammad Arif stood 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In veteran U/40: Mohammad Amin Reshi-1st, Bashrat Qureshi and Javeed Masoodi stood 2nd and 3rd respectively, in U/ 19: Shoaib Shabir Bhat-1st, Zaid Bin Zameen-2nd and Musaib Bilal Bhat-3rd and in youth boys: Mohammad Shoaib-1st, Shamas Kabeer-2nd and Ahmad Bilal-3rd.
