JAMMU, Oct 8: J&K Cycling Association conducted selection trials at MA Stadium today for picking J&K Cycling team for 18th National Road Cycling Championship to be conducted by Cycling Fede-ration of India at Kurukshetra, Haryana.
The trials were held under the supervision of Om Parkash, general secretary, J&K Cycling Association, Mushtaq Ahmed, coach, J&K Cycling Association, NIS coach Ghulam Rasool Kawa.
Ravi Salgotra; treasurer, J&K Cycling Association was also present.
The selected players will attend the conditioning camp at M.A. Stadium.
The selected cyclists will have to pass screening test to be conducted by J&K State Sports Council before their departure.
The selected players for conditioning camp in Elite (Indian Made Cycle Category) included Vikesh Kumar (Jammu), Aashiq Hussain (Srinagar), Gotam (Jammu), Ajaz Ahmad (Ganderbal), Aman Deep Singh (Jammu), Noor Mohd (Ganderbal), while in Elite (Foreign Made Cycle Category), the players included Sahil Raina (Rajouri), Mir Suhail (Srinagar), Irshad Ahmad (Ganderbal).
In U-23 category, the selected players are Ravinder Singh (Jammu), Ajay Kumar (Jammu), Akhil Jamwal (Jammu), in U-19, the players included Prince Choudhary (Samba), Zafar Irshad Nayar (Pulwama), while in U-17 category, the selected cyclists included Danish Gul (Srinagar) and in U-14 (Youth), Aakershait Pathak (Kathua) and Aditya (Jammu) were selected.
