DAHWA deputation meets DyCM

JAMMU, Oct 13: A deputation of Destitute And Handicapped Welfare Association (DAHWA) led by its chief Surat Singh Sumbria called on Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and requested for uplift of Aap Shambhu Mandir at Khooneshwar temple complex in Majalta tehsil.
Rs 5 crore were prioritized to develop the temple complex by the then Commissioner/ Secretary Parvez Dewan vide File No. 4 PNC (11) 2014, dated 27-7-2014, for development of the historical place where Arjun and his son had fought Raja Jambolochan.
The deputation also brought to the notice of Deputy Chief Minister about the matter concerning issuance of corrected ration cards. They also demanded release of funds for disbursement of pension to destitute, handicapped, old-aged persons and also widow pension. They also rued shortage of staff at Social Welfare Department office at Majalta tehsil headquarters.
Dr Nirmal Singh listened the deputation with patience and assured an early response from the Government.
