JAMMU, Oct 8: A mega event of annual Dangal was organised at Tohana-Tibba, Panchayat ground in Satrayan (R S Pura) in which a large number of wrestlers from Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining States participated.
This is an annual feature, which is organised by Sattowali Panchayat in memory of a social reformer, Peer Monganath. Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Minister and R S Chib; former Minister presided over the function as chief guest.
The first prize of Rs 15 lakh was bagged by Pritpal Singh of Phagwara while runner up was Parveen Kohali, both from Punjab. Besides, many prominent wrestlers participated who came from Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. Chib advised the younger generations to remember those who have contributed for the welfare of society.
The prominent among others who were present, included, Sarpanch Veena Devi, Naib- Sarpanch, Kuldeep Singh, PR Manhas (Retd. IGP), Col. R N Sharma, Sobat Ali JMC Corporator, Hl Abrol, Vishal Chopra, Suraj Parkash Sharma, Kulwant Singh, Sarpanchs and Panchs and many important members of Civil Society.
