Dashmesh Club emerges winner in Jr Hockey tournament

JAMMU, Apr 20: Dashmesh Hockey Club Nanak Nagar emerged Champions of Junior Hockey Tournament for Men by defeating Hiranagar Hockey Club by 5 goals to 1, played at KK Hakku Stadium, here today.
The tournament was organized by Hockey J&K and sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
All the five goals for Dashmesh Club were scored by Rajveer Singh, while for Hiranagar, the lone goal was netted by Manav Bhardwaj.
Chief guest of the final match was Baldev Singh Billawaria (Deputy Mayor Jammu), who encouraged the players, while Rajeev Sharma (President Hockey J&K) and Ashok Singh (Divisional Sports Officer Jammu) were the guests of Honour.
Rajeev Sharma (President Hockey J&K) presented a cash prize of Rs 5000 to Dashmesh Club, while the same amount was also awarded to Hiranagar Hockey Club.
Office bearers of Hockey J&K and dignitaries including GS Bakshi, Ishan Sharma, Supinder Deep Singh Bakshi, Gurpreet Singh, RP Singh and TP Singh were present during the event.
The match was officiated by a technical panel of Gurjit Singh (Former International Hockey Player), Iqbal Singh (NIS), Balmeet Singh and D. Singh.
