Kawal Preet cracks ton in First Sikh Cricket Premier League

JAMMU, Feb 22: After scoring a thunderous century, Kawal Preet Singh captured 3 important wickets to help Dashmesh Cricket Club thrash Khalsa Cricket Club by a big margin of 55 runs to seal berth in the finals of the ongoing 1st Sikh Cricket Premier League.
The Dashmesh Cricket Club will take on Veenu Cricket Club Tral in the summit clash at Jammu University grounds, here tomorrow.
Dashmesh Club, after early hiccups rode on a magnificent batting display by Kawal Preet Singh to set a good total of 163 runs for the rivals. Kawal Preet showed stellar grit and tenacity to score unbeaten 101 runs off 60 balls studded with 9 fours and 4 sixes, while Kulvinder Singh and Mandeep Singh contributed 19 and 14 runs to the total respectively.
Dutta Gagandeep took 3 wickets while Kulvinder Singh bagged 2 wickets for Khalsa Cricket Club.
In reply, Khalsa Cricket Club bundled out for 107 runs in 18.3 overs, thus losing the match by 55 runs.
Jaspreet Singh (29), Robin Singh (26) and Harpreet Singh (21) were the main contributors.
For Dashmesh Club, Kawal Preet Singh and Gunny bagged 3 wickets each. Kawal Preet Singh was declared as Player of the Match.
He was presented the Player of the Match award by dignitaries including the chief guest, Brijesh Kumar Sharma, SP Rural; Inspector Ajit Singh, SDPO Sunil Singh Jasrotia and CPO Harvinder Singh and Inspector Deepak Pathania.
The tournament is being organised under the overall supervision of Ajit Singh, Chairman Sikh Coordination Committee J&K, while the matches are being officiated by a panel of experts drawn from the Department of Youth Services and Sports including Suresh Singh, Jagtar Singh, Satpal Singh, Venus, Gurvinder Singh (all Umpires) and Rajesh Dhar (Match Referee).
