*Delhi NCR bags overall C’ship; Jennifer adjudged best athlete

JAMMU, Dec 12: The DAV National Sports 2015 U-19 Girls concluded at MHAC School, Nagbani with a grand valedictory function, here today.
The day was graced by Prabodh Mahajan, Vice President, DAV CMC, New Delhi, who was the chief guest on the occasion, while Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Minister of State Priya Sethi and Suneel Sharma (MOS) were the guests of honour.
The day was earmarked exclusively for the different track & field events races, jumps and throws. The teams qualifying the heats and semifinals took part in the finals.
In the Hockey matches played between different zones, Kaliram DAV Public School, Safidon, Distt. Jind, Haryana came out as winner getting the Gold medal followed by MKD DAV Public School, Attari, Punjab for the silver medal.
The chief guest, Prabodh Mahajan congratulated all the participants for putting up a spectacular show. He said that the teachers apart from imparting education, they arouse curiosity in the children to prepare them to meet the challenges of life.
He lauded the efforts of Principal and the staff for organizing this gala function in such a disciplined and meticulous way. School Principal, Alok Betab presented vote of thanks.
The main attraction of the day was a magnificent march past of the athletes followed by distribution of medals, trophies to the winners and all the participants. The sports extravaganza was drawn to a close with the ceremonial lowering of the flag and thereafter the chief guest declared the meet closed.
The best athlete award was bagged by Jennifer Nancy, DAV Rajrappa, Jharkhand. She got 2 gold in long Jump and 100 meters each.
Overall Championship went to Delhi NCR with 106 points.
