JAMMU, Aug 11: In a PIL filed by Mian Haji Saria seeking directions to the private educational institutions against discriminating with the trans-genders, Division Bench of High Court comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Tashi Rabstan took serious note of report filed by the Commissioner Secretary GAD and directed him to appear in person.
Vide its order dated July 10, 2014, the Division Bench had directed the State to submit a comprehensive action plan with regard to the steps to be taken in terms of Apex Court decision whereby nine directions have been given to the States for implementation in order to ensure that trans-genders don’t face any sort of discrimination.
“The Commissioner Secretary GAD has taken the directions very casually and we don’t appreciate it”, the DB said and directed him to appear in person.
