DC constitutes 11 teams, conducts raids on Real Estate dealers

KATHUA, Nov 26: To check the encroachment of State land in Kathua district, the Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Jitender Kumar Singh today constituted 11 teams of Revenue Officers headed by Naib Tehsildars to check the records of the people involved in the Real Estate business in the district.
The team on the first day raided one real estate offices in the town,  sealed his office and seized the records.  Conforming that the Department has constituted the teams to verify the records of real estate dealers, DC Kathua said that team sealed one real estate dealer’s premises and seized his records.
As the records were huge it will take some time to verify them, he said, adding the Department has constituted a Committee to scrutinize the records and take action. The Committee will submit report within days, he added.
He said some premises of real estate owners were found locked and the team did not enter these premises. The team will continue raids of the premises and offices of real estate dealers in the district and take action against those who were found dealing with sale of State or other land not meant for sale purposes, he added.
