JAMMU, Aug 28: Deputy Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan today convened a meeting to review the progress on works being done under the Member Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) scheme in Jammu Division.
The DC sought district wise details of both physical progress and financial progress of all approved works under the scheme.
Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B), N D Khawaja, Superintending Engineer EM&RE, Karam Chand, ACD Jammu, Aijaz Qaiser, CPO Jammu, Yoginder Katoch, CPO Reasi, Kamal Sharma, CPO Udhampur, Rajeev Bhushan, CPO Samba, Sukhleen Kaur, Deputy Director Planning JMC, Sandeep Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director Planning, Ravi Kumar Sharma, District Social Welfare Officer, Ajay Sacaan besides senior officers of various departments attended the meeting.
The DC reviewed the progress of different departments like Rural Development, Health, Education, PWD, PHE and other departments under MPLADS.
She expressed concern over slow progress of works by different departments and stressed the need to speed up the pace to complete them all within their respective stipulated timeframes.
She emphasized upon the concerned officers to start the pending works at the earliest and also instructed for immediate submission of updated work-wise status details of all centrally sponsored schemes from all the concerned departments.
While reviewing the achievements under RDD, the DC directed the RDD to further speed up the pace to complete all the works and release the payments of executed works.
She stressed for optimally utilizing the funds for providing better facilities to the people.
She urged that all the departments should work in a coordinated manner to enhance their productivity so that the benefit of these works percolate down to the grass root level.
