DODA, Aug 4: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma flagged off a cycle rally to promote fitness among youth under ‘Fit Doda Movement’ at Sports Stadium, here today.
The cycle rally was organised by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Doda, Jaffar Haider Sheikh on the instructions of Director Youth Services and Sports, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat wherein about 225 participants from various Government as well as private educational institutions of Zone Doda and Ghat participated.
The cyclists covered the distance from Sports Stadium Doda to Mini Secretariat Doda and returned back at starting point by passing through various locations of the Doda.
The chief guest appreciated the efforts of the department concerned for organising such event and also advised them to organise such event in future also, so that the spirit of nationalism can be developed among the young generation. Later, certificates were distributed among the participants.
Chief Education Officer Doda, DIO Doda and other officials of education as well as Department of Youth Services and Sports were present during the event.
