JAMMU, Mar 29: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Simrandeep Singh today issued a calendar of Girdawri for all the 919 revenue villages of Jammu district in connection with the forthcoming Girdawri/Harvest inspection of crops/lands scheduled to commence from April 1.
The calendar spells out the name of each village in district Jammu along with the name of Patwari (who will do the Girdawri exercise) as well as the date on which the Patwari would visit the respective villages for inspection. The calendar has been uploaded on the district website – http://www.jammu.g-ov.in, for the information of the people.
As per the rules, Patwari has to visit each field during the bi-annual Girdawri exercise. Any change noticed on ground has to be recorded in the Roznamcha register of the Patwari. The Girdawar has to conduct 100 percent verification of the changes proposed by the Patwari. The Naib Tehsildar has to do 50% verification; Tehsildar has to do 25%; SDM has to do 10% and Deputy Commissioner has to do 5% verification.
It is pertinent to mention that Girdawri calendar for the State is issued every year twice during the Rabi & Kharif. The exercise is crucial in deciding the spot position of crop and possession. Recently, the Financial Commissioner, Revenue instructed the Deputy Commissioner to issue an advance calendar.
