DC Kupwara chairs weekly Block Diwas programme at Zachaldara

KUPWARA, Dec 5: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today visited far flung Zachaldara block of district Kupwara and chaired the weekly Block Diwas programme at HSS Zachaldara to listen the people at their doorsteps to address their developmental issues.

Addressing the block diwas proceedings, the DDC said that the Government is committed for upliftment and welfare of the people and appealed the unemployed educated youth to come forward and enroll themselves under different Government schemes aimed for generating their livelihood.

She said that Kupwara district has a good potential of Agriculture and small scale industries while asking the youth to become job givers instead of job seekers by establishing their own income generating units.

She said Kissan Samparak Abhiyan is going on in every panchayat of the district and the officers of Agriculture and allied departments have been directed to provide thorough awareness to the people so that they can avail the benefits under relevant schemes of the Agri-allied sectors especially HADP.

Regarding PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna, she asked the people to register themselves under the scheme which offers a good subsidy component and will resolve their power supply issues and reduce the electricity bill.

On arrival, the DC inspected various stalls installed by Agriculture and allied departments and got feedback from the concerned officers regarding the achievements and targets of their departments. She also planted a cedar tree in the compound of HSS Zachaldara.

Meanwhile, DDC Rajwar, prominent and senior citizens of Rajwar area put forth different developmental issues pertaining to Water supply, health, roads, etc.

After giving patient hearing to the issues raised by the public, the DC assured them that all their genuine concerns would be addressed in a phased manner with active coordination from relevant departments.

Regarding water supply, the DC assured the people that three schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission including Wader Bala, Satkochi and Nichama in Rajwar area will be commissioned this month which will fulfill the long pending demand of the people living in these areas. She directed the Ex. Engineer PHE to speed up the work on other schemes also and ensure completion of these schemes within the timeline so that more people get benefited under the ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission.

Among others, DDC Member Rajwar, Mir Suliman; ACD Kupwara; CMO and other district and sectoral officers, besides, a large number of people attended the block diwas programme.
