BENGALURU, Mar 3: Ridding on brilliant display with the willow by skipper Meg Lanning and great show with the ball by Radha Yadhav and Jess Jonassen guided Delhi Capitals Women to an emphatic 25-run win over Gujarat Giants in the ongoing WPL 2024 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium Bengaluru today.
Earlier, put into bat, Delhi Capitals Women scored a good total of 163 runs in 20 overs.
Skipper Meg Lanning top scored with 55 runs off 41 balls studded with 6 fours and one six, while Alice Capsey and Sutherland contributed 27 and 20 runs to the total respectively. Shikha Pandey chipped in with brisk unbeaten 14 runs off 8 balls with 2 boundaries.
For Gujarat Giants, Megha Singh was the most successful bowler, who took 4 wickets by conceding 37 runs in her 4 overs, while Gardner took 2 wickets. Tanuja Kanwar and Mannat Kashyap claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Gujarat Giants managed to score 138 runs in 20 overs to lose the match by 25 runs.
Ashleigh Gardner top scored with 40 runs off 31 balls studded with 5 fours and one six, while Phoebe Litchfield and Tanuja Kanwar contributed 13 runs each.
Radha Yadhav and Jess Jonassen took 3 wickets each for the Delhi Capitals, while Shikha Pandey and Arundhati Reddy claimed one wicket each.
