POONCH, Mar 24: Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, Vikas Kundal, today presented high-quality hockey equipment to talented players Akshara Dutta and Haiqa Banday.
Both players, representing Sham Lal Hockey Club and Power House Hockey Club, have been selected to join the prestigious SAI Hockey Training Centre in Hissar, Haryana. This is a historic achievement, as it marks the first time that girls from Jammu and Kashmir have been chosen for training at the SAI Academy, reflecting the growing strength of women’s hockey in the region.
The Deputy Commissioner praised the accomplishments of Akshara and Haiqa, urging them to perform well in their training. They were accompanied by their coaches, Pawan Kumar and Navjot Singh. Both players are currently training at the Khelo India Hockey Centre, which has been instrumental in developing their skills.
