JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Government today ordered attachment of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Niraj Kumar after his pictures allegedly with girls in a hotel room went viral on social media.
“Enquiry has been ordered into the act and the DC Udhampur Niraj Kumar (IAS) has been attached with office of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu,” an official as per an order issued by the General Administration Department today said.
He said Additional Deputy Commissioner Arvind Sharma has been asked to hold the charge of DC Udhampur till further orders.
“The government ordered probe and initiated action against the bureaucrat after his pictures went viral on social media,” said an official.
Kumar in the pictures is allegedly seen under the influence of liquor with two girls.
“The viral pictures have triggered gossips among IAS machinery, the government officials and politicians as well,” said an official.
Sources said the bureaucrat had recently checked in a hotel room with girls following which the pictures went viral. (AGENCIES)
